SSEN – 11kV Tongue Powerline
John Gunn and Sons Ltd. were appointed to install a new 11kV cable between Kinloch, Tongue and on to Hope Lodge in Sutherland, a total distance of 17 kilometres.
As part of the works, John Gunn and Sons were responsible for the following elements;
- Installation of 1.5km of EV ducting on A836.
- Installation of 15.5km of 11kV cable installation works through road verges, agricultural land, peatland and hillsides.
- Joint Bay construction.
- Concrete plinth and transformer base works, and
- Road surfacing and reinstatement works.
