Experienced Plant Fitter

A vacancy has arisen for an Experienced Plant Fitter.

The applicant would require to undertake repairs and servicing on all types of Construction Machinery as well as repairs, MOTs and servicing on HGV Lorries and trailers.

Office Administrator

John Gunn & Sons Ltd. are a long-established civil engineering contractor offering a full or part time Office Administrator position at our Lybster office, Caithness.

Responsibilities;

  • Processing sales invoices onto computer system.
  • Handle incoming telephone calls.
  • Perform general office duties and support all office team with administrative tasks.
  • Maintain and update databases and records.
  • Assist with purchasing.

Requirements;

  • Have good communicational skills via telephone, in person and email.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft excel and word.
  • Be enthusiastic and willing to learn.
  • Be self-motivated.
  • Have good organisational skills.

Training can be offered to gain a qualification if requested.

Project Manager

John Gunn & Sons Ltd. have a great opportunity for a project manager to manage civil engineering projects in Caithness, August start date.

The role will involve managing all aspects of civil engineering project including planning and delivery within budget and programme. Day to day responsibilities will include resource planning, managing work teams, attending meetings, and ensuring health and safety compliance along with good client relations.

Desirable (Not essential)

  • Previous project manager experience on civil engineering/construction sites.
  • Full UK Driving license.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills. (Word, Excell, MS Project).
  • High level organisational skills.
  • Hold current managers CSCS card or SMSTS.

Site Foreman

John Gunn & Sons Ltd. have a great opportunity for a site foreman to supervise projects in Caithness, August start date.

The role will involve the supervision and co-ordination of varied construction projects typically including but not limited to heavy civil engineering cable laying, large scale duct installation and works within the nuclear industry. Day to day responsibilities will include leading and directing operatives and subcontractors, ensuring works are carried out according to plans, specifications and timelines, managing logistics and delivery of materials, conducting site inspections, maintaining records and ensuring quality, safety and environmental compliance.

Desirable (Not essential)

  • Previous experience on civil engineering/construction sites.
  • Full UK Driving license.
  • Good work ethic and communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • First Aid.
  • Hold current CSCS card or SSSTS.
